I deplore those dryer sheets. They make me gag!

Thanks for the tip about using vinegar. I usually don't use a thing in my dryer, but will try this.

I loathe the stinky smell of those dryer sheets. People should learn that normal smells of freshly dried clothes, freshly washed hair or even a stuffy house is fine.

Your piano is lovely. My husband plays piano and has done for 45 years. A nice instrument - but then, anything that brings music to the world is special in it's own right.

Cam,

We haven't had a dryer since 1988 and we live in the city. I used to have a clothesline but my husband "closelined" himself on it one too many times while working in the back yard and tore the thing down.

I now use 2 large wooden drying racks that can be moved to different parts of the yard to follow the sun, or brought into a spare room in our tiny house, or left in the garage where they can partially dry and then I can bring in a few items at a time to fully dry in the house. We also have a bamboo pole across the rafters in the garage where I hang a lot of things on hangers to dry. In the summer, late spring and early fall I hang a lot of the clothes in our fig tree on hangers (the figs are horrible, but it is a great place to dry clothes and the leaves make for nice shade -- I started it from a sprout years ago).

I have a teeny rack that is good for undies and socks, and something like that could sit right near your stove.

We were once given a dryer but it was old and when we found out we needed rewiring for 220 in our garage and the cost and hassle just for a dryer (we have no other use for 220) we gave the thing away and never used it.

Those dryer sheets are horrible. I don't see any reason for them!

It's great to see your surrounds.
A lot of people are totally clueless at the effect that certain perfumes and perfumed products have on the rest of us. I think of it as similar to a cigarette smoker who cannot smell the smoke on everything he owns.

It's so dry here in the winter, I use downy in the rinse AND dryer sheets! I usually have so much perfume on though, you can't smell the clothes. HAHA!

I love the dried on the line smell though and can't wait till spring to experience it again. If I hung out a t-shirt today, it would be snow-covered in moments and frozen stiff as a board. Ahhh winter.
